Baby number four for Melissa and Scott MacPhail of Margaree Valley, is their first boy and he has already joined their family in perfect harmony.
Levi John MacPhail was born on January 7th at 5:00 a.m. weighing 8.2 pounds. “Our smallest baby yet!” said very proud mother, Melissa.
Baby Levi was delivered in Antigonish at the Saint Martha’s Regional Hospital. “We have always loved our time spent at the hospital in Antigonish,” said Melissa. “The nurses and our doctor have been wonderful over the years of us having our babies there,” she added.
Melissa, like most mothers who live in Inverness County, are well aware of the long journey they have to endure to make the many appointments and then eventually deliver.
“I will say that, when expecting your fourth baby, the two-hour drive can be a daunting one,” said Melissa. “With not knowing how long a labour could take, especially in the early stage of labour, our question always is, ‘Should we go home or stay?’” explained Melissa. “And with that question my father always says, ‘You better stay put,’ and we’re glad we did,” she added.
Levi has three very excited sisters, Kaylin, age 6, Marley, age 4, and Isla, age 2.
Levi’s “Grammy” is Karen LeBlanc and his “Papa and Nana” are John and Brenda Burton.
He also has great-grandparents, Harry and former councillor Gloria LeBlanc.
Melissa explained that the name Levi means to be “joined in harmony” and John means “God is gracious.”
“These two things are a rich blessing in life,” she said. “We, as his parents, hope he comes to know these beautiful things his name represents, to live at peace with God and others and that God is a loving and gracious God,” she closed.
Welcome to the world and to the county, baby Levi. Know that you will be loved and celebrated by a community that cares – all the days of your life.
Congratulations to Scott, Melissa, Kaylin, Marley and Isla!
